"If you have wanted to learn how to knit socks two at a time, this mini-workshop is for you. The technique is applicable to anything where two identical things have to be knitted - sleeves for example.

We will be knitting with worsted weight yarn in class because it is much easier to start with heavier yarn and bigger needles. Once you have learned how to do this, you can switch to your sock weight yarn on your own to knit the socks. I find students struggle with the technique when working with fine yarn and needles because they can't see what they are doing clearly. It is not a difficult technique but can be a bit fiddly when getting started. This is where worsted weight yarn helps.

We will start by casting on for cuff-down socks and learn how to knit two items at a time. After we have explored this, we will put aside the cuff-down socks and learn how to cast on for toe-up socks to be knit two-at-a-time.
