"Give the Queen of the Quick and the Cheap a chance to show you what you can do in twenty minutes, give or take a bit. I will have many samples of projects for keeping or gifting. A handmade orifice hook for your spinning friends? A shawl pin for your best friend? Stitch markers for your knitting circle?
For new students, I promise you that is a short time you will have a finished project that is useful and pleasing. In addition, when you get home you will feel comfortable to keep going and know what tools will get you started.
For returning students, there will be new projects and new tools. I have been making items of all kinds in wire for almost 50 years and I still see no end in sight for the potential in this creative direction. Why buy wine or candies for a hostess gift when you can whip up a shawl pin, cable needle necklace or Portuguese knitting tool? For your non- knitting friends there are striking necklaces that double as food bag closures and way more!
Students will be working in bronze, copper and nickel wire in a variety of gauges. I bring a wide variety of tools for students to understand that sometimes how a certain tool may work for or against them."

Leslie Wind

I started making jewelry in the late 1960's when a friend sat me down at her mother's kitchen table. In looking back I realized that the informality made me more comfortable than a classroom setting. My aim is to bring a sense of creative freedom and informality to my classes.
